Another recent project for the International Federation of Journalists, MedMedia and BBC Media Action. During March and April of this year the IFJ organised a conference on the Freedom of Expression entitled “Stand Up for Free Expression – Raising our Voice against Intolerance and Racism”. The conference addressed the new challenges to freedom of expression, the chilling impact of extremist violence and the role of media in combatting hate speech and racism across the region. It also examined the corollary media crisis, the battle against declining standards and the promotion of high quality journalism. To accompany this open dialogue we produced a brand which stretched over multiple languages and helped to promote tolerance, quality journalism and media policy reform.
